TITLE: President and CEO
COMPANY: AMTIS, Inc.
YEAR FOUNDED: 2007
LOCATION: Orlando, Fla.
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
After 28 years in the Navy and seven years working in other small businesses, Barbara Stankowski decided she wanted to do business differently and try a different business model. Out of that pursuit, AMTIS, Inc. was formed, providing information technology, professional, management and educational support services that utilize cutting edge technology and a highly talented and credentialed workforce.
Between 2012 and 2013, the company more than doubled in size, garnering recognition as one of the Top 50 Florida Companies to Watch for 2012, and this year by Inc.’s 500/5000 as one of the fastest growing small businesses in the country, with a three-year growth of 377 percent. Stankowski is quick to acknowledge the most important factor in their growth and success is their leadership team, which includes CFO Linda Albright and VP of Operations Theresa Farmer.
Adding, “Being part of the CEO Nexus group has been very beneficial. The access to other successful business leaders and sharing their experiences has given me ideas and different approaches to consider as we develop our short- and long-range plans. It gives me an ongoing opportunity to grow and to learn as a CEO.
ABOUT THE AWARD:
CEO Nexus, in collaboration with The Rollins Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship, Florida High Tech Corridor Council and GrowFL, brings together leaders of established growth-stage businesses in a confidential setting to meet and learn from CEO peers who have grown their companies into more advanced stages of business development. The CEO Nexus Cup is a traveling trophy and member-recognition award, recognizing those companies that have achieved growth and entrepreneurial success, in part due to their collaboration with CEO Nexus.
