Wyndham Destinations Inc. announced in June it will open a timeshare global headquarters in Orlando in early 2019. The operation will bring 200 new jobs with average salaries of $89,000, which is double the overall prevailing average wage in Orange County, according to a press release by the Orlando Economic Partnership.
The plan stems from Wyndham Worldwide’s announcement in 2017 that it was spinning off the company’s hotel business, resulting in two separate publicly traded companies: Wyndham Hotel Group, headquartered in Parsippany, N.J., and Wyndham Destinations, which includes Wyndham Vacation Ownership and Wyndham Destinations, located in Orlando.
Wyndham Destinations has a global presence in 110 countries at more than 220 vacation ownership resorts and 4,300-plus affiliated exchange properties making it the world’s largest vacation ownership, exchange and rental company. It employs more than 25,000 people around the globe.
In Orlando, the operation joins a who’s who of timeshare companies, including the Marriott Vacation Club; Hilton Grand Vacations; Disney Vacation Club; Holiday Inn Club Vacations; Vistana Signature Experiences, which represents the Sheraton and Westin vacation clubs; Westgate Resorts; and Shell Vacations Club.
