UCF College of Medicine Breast Cancer Awareness and Current Research

As organizations across the country recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, team members at Legacy Pointe at UCF are sharing a story close to their hearts with the goal of raising awareness about the impactof breast cancer.

On Wednesday, October 20 at 11:30 a.m., Legacy Pointe at UCF will host a virtual Breast Cancer Awareness Event via Zoom.

The event is open to the public and will begin with a personal story from Legacy Pointe at UCF’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Amy Alvarado-Plank, who is a breast cancer survivor. Amy is deeply loved by the future Legacy Pointe at UCF residents —a small group of them that are cancer survivors have even come together to rally around her throughout the last year for support.

Following Amy’s reflection, UCF Professor & Cancer Division HeadDr. Annette Khaledwill speak about her research and the early warning signs of breast cancer.
