Bringing decades of experience in culinary, finance, IT and hotel operations
ORLANDO, Fla. (May 27, 2021) – Caribe Royale Orlando, Central Florida’s largest all-suite convention hotel located in the heart of the nation’s number one convention and tourist destination, has added four new hospitality executives to its leadership team. They are:
· Devon Nicholson, director of finance. Nicholson has more than 28 years of experience in finance, with the majority of his career managing multi-property hotels and complexes. Most recently, he served as corporate director of finance for the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa, a post he held since 2014. His career also includes director-level finance and operational management positions with W Hotels, Sheraton, Westin and Marriott. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and earned an executive development certification from Cornell University.
· Robert Contreras, director of rooms. Contreras has nearly 29 years of hospitality experience, including 11 years with the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort / Convention Center, where he most recently served as director of room operations. He has spent his entire career in lodging as an expert in enhancing guest services and experience, beginning as concierge and guest services manager and later, assistant front office manager for the New York Marriott Marquis and director of restaurants for the Bridgewater Marriott in New Jersey.
· Joshua Cain, executive pastry chef. Cain is an award-winning pastry chef with more 25 years of combined pastry, culinary experience in the hospitality and convention industries serving leading hotels, including the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort and properties for JW Marriot and Ritz-Carlton. Most recently, he was the executive pastry chef for the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort / Convention Center, where he led a team of 25 baking and pastry professionals. Cain has won numerous culinary and hospitality awards, including receiving the Spirit to Serve Award from Bill Marriott, Jr. in 2013.
· Chet Patel, director of IT. Patel is an information technology operations professional with more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality and leisure industries. He joins Caribe Royale from his most recent post with Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Lines, where he developed infrastructure efficiencies and drove innovations. Patel began his Hospitality IT career with The St. Regis (now Ritz Carlton) and W Hotels in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and later became the complex director of IT for the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort. Considered a leading innovator by his industry peers, he is known for building partnerships to bring fresh perspectives to complex issues.
