HomeAid Orlando and Albu & Associates Dedicate Office Renovation for Homeless Services Network of Central Florida

HomeAid Orlando

On May 18, 2022, elected officials and agency partners gathered in the newly renovated office space now available for 55 employees of Homeless Services Network (HSN) to work together under one roof to further their mission to end homelessness through collaboration, strategy, capacity building, and effective stewardship of knowledge and resource.

Through a partnership between HomeAid Orlando and Homeless Services Network (HSN), volunteer building industry partners donate their expertise, materials, and labor to rehabilitate and build new spaces to serve homeless families and individuals. Albu & Associates served as the volunteer Project Builder Captain for the HSN Office renovation project and donated goods and services:

  • $308,000 total project costs
  • $114,000 in donated materials, labor, etc.
  • Representing a 37% cost savings that HSN can reinvest into the core mission.

Additionally, suppliers and vendor partners donated hundreds of hours for this project for a complete tenant buildout including design, engineering, painting, plumbing, mechanical, flooring, and more.

This is the first commercial partnership project for HomeAid Orlando and supports of the Housing First initiative by the City Orlando.

“Albu & Associates was honored and privileged to have the opportunity to work with two incredible nonprofits the Homeless Service Network and HomeAid. The work they are doing in our community is incredible. There is so much need and the amount of assistance these organizations provide is making real change for the better. We are thankful for all they do for Central Florida and on behalf of our company and our subcontractors we enjoyed the hard work knowing we were making a difference and able to provide a large savings on construction services to enable the dream of Homeless Service Network to have a class A space for their employees to continue there work with homeless center agencies. One of Albu & Associates’ core values is to help others in our community and this was a perfect opportunity to fulfill this value. We look forward to continuing our relationship with HomeAid and the Homeless Service Network to assist them to continue their work and to benefit the individuals and families in our wonderful Central Florida community.,” said Jason Albu, CEO of Albu & Associates.

“Thank you so much to HomeAid, Albu & Associates and L2 Architects for donating their time, energy and resources into making our space a more welcoming and collaborative environment. Homeless Services Network shares a commitment to ending homelessness and is proud to work together, along with our partner provider agencies, to help our community better serve our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Martha Are, CEO of Homeless Services Network (HSN).

“This is a picture-perfect example of the HomeAid Orlando collaborative model.  A well-run, deserving agency like HSN receiving expert construction management with cost savings by a respected and generous company like Albu & Associates; the result is a great project like the new office space in the First United Methodist Church.  Dozens of employees will help thousands of individuals and families for years to come in this special place,” Russ Beymer, Executive Director
