ORLANDO, Fla. (March 2, 2022) – HostDime, a global data center provider, and construction firm Robins & Morton recently celebrated the topping out of HostDime’s new Orlando-area corporate headquarters and data center in Eatonville.
The topping-out ceremony celebrates the installation of the final beam of a structure, signifying the structural completion of a building and marking a major milestone on a construction project.
When finished, the seven-story, 100,000-square-foot building will house the only enterprise Tier IV public data center in Central Florida, as well as adjoining offices, client-focused and community meeting spaces, sports court and a history of the Internet museum. Tier IV is the highest level of reliability, with multiple levels of redundancy in a structure designed to withstand a Category 5 hurricane-level winds.
“The technology ecosystem in Orlando has grown so much. We’re proud to bring this innovative data center to the Central Florida business community,” said Manny Vivar, CEO and founder of HostDime. “These mission critical IT data center facilities play a big role in being the home of the digital world and of data to the cloud.
“As a construction firm with a proven track record of building mission critical facilities that are built with a bigger purpose, Robins & Morton has been the perfect partner for HostDime,” he said.
“This milestone is a testament to the hard work of the many skilled craftspeople on the project, and to our trade contractors,” said Superintendent JT Coleman.
The design team includes architect Baker Barrios, structural engineer McNamara-Salvia, OCI Consulting Engineers, Gai Consultants and landscape designer Innovations Designs Group.
“We’re honored that HostDime has entrusted Robins & Morton to build this highly specialized facility,” said Vice President Derek Gregg. “It’s exciting to know this project will boost economic development in the community and advance the Orlando area’s technology infrastructure. We have a great team of Florida-based project partners working with us to make that happen.”
The structure is prominently visible from I-4 and at 125 feet will be the tallest building between downtown Orlando and Altamonte Springs.
