Sorensen Moving & Storage Opens New 16,000 Square-Foot Facility

Moving company to grow trade show division with state-of-the-art building

Sorensen Moving & Storage, the Mayflower agent specializing in local, national and international moves, has opened a new, state-of-the-art facility that will allow the company to expand its tradeshow division, Sorensen Trade Show Services.

The building spans 16,000 square feet and is located just across the street from the company’s headquarters on Eau Gallie Boulevard in Melbourne. It also comes fully equipped with air conditioning and technological resources, and is dock-high, which will allow for easier transporting of assets to and from the facility.

Sorensen Moving & Storage started its trade show division in 2010, when the economic recession led to less homes being sold and purchased, and therefore less need for the company’s household goods storage service. Now, customer demand for the trade show service is so great that an expansion became necessary.

“What began as a way to diversify during a time of economic hardship is now a successful, stand-alone, division of our company,” said Scott Sorensen, chief executive officer of Sorensen Moving & Storage. “We are so proud to be in a position to grow Sorensen Trade Show Services and continue to provide our clients with all of their moving and storage needs.”

Sorensen Trade Show Services manages the assets involved in trade shows from start to finish. Services include building and designing assets, storing assets, shipping assets to trade shows and repairing any damage that occurs during a show when the assets return to the warehouse.

Sorensen Moving & Storage plans to use the extra 15,000 square feet of free space in its current facility that the relocation has created to add an additional 350 storage units, which will aid the company in growing its household goods storage service.
