Delivering Global Training Solutions While Influencing Central Florida’s MS&T Industry
At the epicenter of the MS&T industry, Engineering & Computer Simulations Inc. (ECS) is an award-winning global services and solutions company headquartered in Orlando, Florida, with a second office in Huntsville, Alabama, that focuses on aviation and aerospace. Recognized as a pioneer and visionary, ECS blends customized global training services with advanced learning technology solutions across diverse focus areas. It combines its entrepreneurial spirit and worldwide presence to manage a portfolio focused on immersive, live and virtual training experiences to support aviation, aerospace, logistics, medical, combat and military teams.
“ECS is an evangelist for MS&T beyond Central Florida,” said Waymon Armstrong, CEO and president of ECS. “While our local roots provide a solid foundation, we are delivering military operations and training, and immersive, live and virtual training experiences to government and commercial partners in over 45 locations all over the world.”
A Carved Niche
ECS earned its trailblazer reputation for delivering notable technological advances and services to meet the training needs of governmental and civilian clients. For example, ECS was selected by the United States Army Contracting Command — Orlando, Florida, as one of eight firms for the $2.5 billion Enterprise Services Training Contract. The five-year contract provides and manages training and training assistance for military and civilian-related subjects in contingency operations and training. The firm was also selected for maintenance training and modernization upgrade programs for the United States Army Program Executive Office for Aviation in the Project Manager Cargo and Project Manager Apache offices.
“The potential of MS&T remains strong,” explains Armstrong. “The possibilities are endless, and ECS is fortunate to have several partners and significant contracts and projects. Our unique products and services help grow our company while building the global MS&T community.”
An Innovative Team
ECS is focused on delivering exemplary training services, underpinned by current and future technology that ensures training is more realistic and more effective.
The team is composed of engineers, program managers, subject-matter experts, instructional systems designers, and other talented professionals that guide the training process. One of the most compelling training programs is storytellers who collaborate with programmers to incorporate the solution into dynamic, interactive experiences.
“The best content may render useless unless the experience engages and compels the intended audience,” said Armstrong. “It is not only creating a realistic environment but authentic behaviors that mimic real-life experiences.”
A Central Florida Icon
Many individuals influence Central Florida’s MS&T industry; yet, Armstrong and the ECS team rank among the most effective in challenging Florida’s homegrown technology industry. Armstrong has received consistent recognition for his community and industry contributions and for his entrepreneurial talents by private enterprise and trade organizations. He is a frequent speaker at local, national and global conferences, including keynoting at I/ITSEC, MODSIM WORLD, Florida Simulation Summit, and the Orlando Business Journal Technology Panel. Additionally, he chairs the Orange County Mayor’s Modeling, Simulation and Training Blue Ribbon Commission and serves on the board of the University of Central Florida Research Foundation and other non-profit organizations.
“My goal is to ensure every client receives innovative products and/or services that maximize their workforce’s performance,” said Armstrong.
