Welsh Construction, LLC of Melbourne was founded in 2003 by Ken Welsh, owner and president. Backed by Welsh’s decades of commercial construction experience, the company provides construction and design/build services in the educational, storage, medical, office, restaurant, retail, religious and municipal sectors in Brevard County, central Florida and beyond. The Welsh team strives for “Building Relationships For Life.”

Jennifer Welsh Parkerson was recently named vice president of operations. She was the company’s first employee and over the years performed many duties including: bookkeeping, project manager on three condominium complexes and executive assistant to the president. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing the company’s office operations while actively supporting its growth. Parkerson holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management/ Information Systems from the University of Central Florida.

2017 was a busy year for Welsh in the storage, medical and education sectors. In the storage/warehouse sector, a 91,000-sq.-ft., ExtraSpace Storage facility in Sanford was completed, as well as a 15,000-sq.-ft. pharmaceutical warehouse for Terry Laboratories of West Melbourne. In 2018, Welsh will commence several new projects in Brevard County, Mulberry and Port Orange.

In the medical sector, expansion of the Dr. George Roque-Atlantic Medical Group in West Melbourne and a new MedExpress in Vero Beach are underway.

In education, Coral Reef Academy in Melbourne was completed, and work started on a 10,000-sq.-ft. Creative World School in St. Cloud. The Brevard County School Board chose Welsh for design/build renovations at Saturn, Fairglen Elementary and Kennedy Middle Schools.

Over the past two years, Welsh doubled its staff and completed construction on its new headquarters at 3845 West Eau Gallie Boulevard in Melbourne. The 10,000-sq.-ft. complex houses the offices of Welsh, Shane Smith, PA and has space for additional retail/office uses.

Other executive team members include: Chief Estimator Gary Goodwin, Vice President of Development Chris Norton, Senior Project Manager Steve Anderson and Senior Cost Accountant Cara Langlie, all of whom are well known in the construction industry. The Welsh team works towards “Building Relationships For Life” and extends an invitation to work with you.
