Sodexo Region Chair for North America and CEO of Schools worldwide, Lorna C. Donatone oversees 133,000 employees and Sodexo business in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, including over 700 people in Orlando supporting schools, healthcare facilities, corporate offices and leisure and sports parks. As CEO of Schools worldwide, she is responsible for a business segment with more than 3,500 client sites in 42 countries and $1.5 billion in revenue.
Donatone joined Sodexo in 1999 and has held several key leadership roles in the company, including chief operating officer and president of Sodexo Education in the U.S. In that capacity, she led Sodexo’s business at nearly 500 public school districts and more than 850 college and university campuses, overseeing more than 70,000 employees.
Donatone began her career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche and has worked in the airline, banking and high-tech industries. She has a B.S. in management from Tulane University and an MBA from Texas Christian University.
Donatone has served as a board member of the National Restaurant Association since 2005 and became a trustee of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation in 2011, where she is currently chair of the Board. She was elected to the Board of Trustees for The Culinary Institute of America in 2008 and is past chair of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Foodservice Forum.
Her commitment to diversity, inclusion, mentorship and training employees is demonstrated in her service as executive sponsor for Sodexo’s African American and Latino Employee Business Resource Groups as well as chairing the Women’s Business Resource Group.
She received the Ascendancy Award by w2wlink.com in 2010 for her work in mentoring women. Girls, Inc. also recognized her in 2009 for her work in empowering young women. In 2015, she received the Trailblazer Award from the Women’s Foodservice Forum.
