2015 Entrepreneur of the Year: Banking and Financing
Business has long recognized that student athletes learn far more about life than they do about their particular sport, by competing at the collegiate level. Discipline, teamwork, goal setting, competition and leadership are inculcated into their training every day, to the point where these skills are as natural to these individuals as were their native language and food preferences when they were growing up.
Taking those vital life lessons and applying them to his organization has caused Tony Coley to be as recognized in the Central Florida business and banking community, as he was as a standout linebacker at the University of Miami. Though he represents a bank that dates back to 1872, his innovative and value based approach have caused him to rise to the top in every position he has held, in every location where he was placed.
Explaining the “how” of his banking team’s success he said, “Banks basically offer the same products; the key is how you package those products for your clients. At the end of the day, banking is about people, and good bankers are simply people who can connect with people. I find they like us first, then they discover they like the way we do business.”
We like the way Tony Coley does business and the commitment he and his bank have made to cause Orlando to be a great place to live, to work and to play.
